A Place for Families
Downtown Hope is home to many young families.
Children are welcomed into a healthy, caring environment where they can learn about faith, build friendships, and become part of the larger family of the church.
During both Sunday gatherings, children from birth through 8th grade can enjoy Children of Hope—a safe, engaging ministry where they'll experience age-appropriate Bible teaching, worship, games, and meaningful friendships. Our team will personally help you through check-in, show you where your children will meet, and make sure your family's first visit is comfortable from start to finish.

Your First Visit
What should I wear?
We do not have a dress code here at Downtown Hope. Come as you are, whether that's jeans and a t-shirt or your Sunday best!
Where should I park?
You have several options. The easiest free option is Park Place Garage across the street from Downtown Hope, behind Miss Shirley’s Cafe, which is free from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sundays. You can also use the West Garrett Garage behind the church for $2, or park in one of the spots available in Downtown Hope’s back parking lot.
Which entrance should I use?
Either entrance is fine. Use the front entrance if you’re coming from West Street or Park Place Garage, and use the back entrance if you park behind the church or in West Garrett Garage. We’ll be glad to help you find your way once you arrive.
How long is the gathering?
Our Sunday gatherings are usually about 75 minutes. During that time, you can expect worship, prayer, Scripture, teaching, and communion. We’d also love for you to hang around afterward, meet a few people, and ask any questions you have.
What happens with my children?
We’d love to welcome your kids! During both gatherings, Children of Hope offers programming for children from birth through 8th grade, with worship, activities, and teaching created just for them. A private Mother’s Room is also available for moms who need a quiet place to feed, comfort, or sit with little ones while still watching the livestream of the gathering.
Will I be singled out?
No. We know visiting a church for the first time can feel intimidating, so we won’t ask you to stand up, introduce yourself, or do anything that puts you on the spot. You’re welcome to participate as much or as little as you feel comfortable.
Do I have to give money?
No. Giving is something our regular church family does as part of worship, but there is no expectation for guests to give. If you’re visiting for the first time, we simply hope you feel welcomed, encouraged, and free to learn more about Downtown Hope.
What if I am uncertain about Christianity?
You are welcome here. Downtown Hope is a place where you can explore faith, ask honest questions, and take your next step at your own pace. We teach from the Bible and center everything on Jesus, but you do not have to have everything figured out before you come.
What are the service times?
We gather on Sundays at 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Both gatherings include worship, prayer, Scripture, teaching, and communion, and Children of Hope is available during both services.
