A House for the Outsider

As Christians in a politically divided landscape, our temptation is to become a people who are insulated and exclusive - “we will only welcome you if you act, look or believe like us.” And yet as Solomon is dedicating the temple he prays an astonishing prayer- that God would hear his pagan neighbor’s prayer in order that they might believe that Yahweh is the one true God. Join us this Sunday as Joey walks us through 1 Kings 8:41-43 to discover another aspect of what it means to be a church for our city: a church of open welcome to any person the Lord is drawing to Himself.
